A Glimpse of Our Facilities

Crowning Glory is the only adult day center in Central Indiana owned and operated by a Speech Language Pathologist.

What is a speech pathologist?

Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) are experts in cognitive communication disorders.

Many people who are diagnosed with dementia also have a cognitive communication disorder, meaning their dementia makes it difficult for them to express themselves fully. In early to middle stage dementia, SLPs teach these individuals and their caregivers compensatory strategies to promote independence and reduce burden on their caregivers. Treatment for individuals with middle to late stage dementia are often aimed at promoting a persons ability to effectively communicate in order to prevent or decrease a negative behavior such as refusing care.

At Crowning Glory Adult Day Center we specialize in providing activities and cues specifically for individual’s cognitive level. These activities are the most appropriate for individuals in early to middle stage dementia.

Although individuals with late stage dementia are no longer appropriate for our services at Crowning Glory, we can still be a resource to help direct you to support. Please don’t hesitate to call or email if you need assistance.
